Western MA Attractions/Culture

The modern art center Mass MoCA, the Norman Rockwell Museum, and the Mohawk Trail are only a few of the attractions you'll find in Western Massachusetts.

Dr. Seuss Memorial Sculpture Garden - The author of "Cat in the Hat" tales was born in Springfield, and Springfield Museums now has a memorial to him.
Hancock Shaker Village - An outdoor museum that educates visitors on the Shaker way of life
Lenox - The small town is the home of Boston Symphony Orchestra in the summer and is filled with lots of small shops and galleries
Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory and Gardens - A glass conservatory filled with butterflies, moths, and tropical vegetation, as well as exhibits on the evolution of butterflies
MASS MoCA - In North Adams, one of the state's premier modern art museums
Mohawk Trail - A highway trail, along Route 2, with several attractions for tourists
The Mount - In Lenox, the home of author Edith Wharton, which includes three acres of gardens
Norman Rockwell Museum - The Stockbridge museum includes wall after wall of Rockwell's paintings and illustrations
North Quabbin Woods - Go for a history or nature hike, or for some outdoor adventure
Shelburne Falls Bridge of Flowers - Gardens adorns a bride in the center of a small New England town
Springfield Museums - You'll find fine arts and lessons in science at these four Western MA museums
